Mark Walerstein
Senior Loan Officer

For most of my adult life I have been interested in the real estate industry and would take every opportunity I had to talk about it or learn about it. After I had sold my internet and wedding planning businesses, a friend had encouraged me to consider the mortgage industry. After looking into that Idea, I decided that they were right and I have had no regrets since. The best part of what I do is helping people accomplish their goals and dreams of becoming a homeowner. However, that is not the only thing that motivates me. I also love helping existing homeowners get the funds they need for remodeling their house or consolidating their debt. Mortgages are very useful tools for meeting so many of life’s needs.

The best piece of advice I would have for anyone who wants to buy a house or refinance their current mortgage is to work with someone who is transparent and honest. Buying a house can be difficult in today’s real estate market and you need a mortgage professional who will tell you the truth about what is happening with your home loan. Even more important, you need someone who will go above and beyond to make sure that you go from the application to the closing table. My goal is to have a life-long relationship with everyone I work with, and the only way I can achieve that is by doing everything I can to make your home loan process as enjoyable as possible.

I would have thought that I would have been retired by now after having owned my own businesses and having whole other careers as a respiratory therapist in a children’s hospital. However, life had different plans. Joining the mortgage profession has invigorated me and now I cannot imagine ever giving this up. If I am not helping my clients, I’m spending time with my family. I’m a proud husband, Girl Dad, and grandfather. Few things make me happier than cooking for the people I love the most and enjoying time with them around the dinner table or traveling around the state on the weekends to watch my grandkids play soccer. Occasionally you can catch me on the golf course, but I do not play anywhere near enough to be anymore than mediocre. But, that is okay because I’d rather spend my time being great at being a husband, father, grandfather, and mortgage broker over being great at golf any day.
