Senior Processing Manager
I started out in the mortgage industry in the 90s. I had just finished college and was applying to graduate schools when a friend of mine asked me to join their new mortgage company. I had my heart set on graduate school but decided to take a chance as a mortgage broker. It turned out to be one of the best decisions of my life. Nearly 30 years later I am still working in the mortgage industry and have zero regrets about my decision.
My favorite part of being a mortgage broker is solving problems for my clients and finding solutions for complex situations. The home buying process is not always as straightforward as you would think it should be. Every person has a different financial situation, so each client needs a unique approach for their needs and their goals. I love helping my clients accomplish their goals and buy a home. When they finally get the keys to their new house in spite of speed bumps and obstacles, I feel completely elated. I know how much it means to them and I feel truly fortunate that I got to help them make it happen. I believe in my heart that hard work and dedication are the building blocks for success, and I pride myself on seeing things through until completion. So, if you have any desire to buy a home, even if your situation won’t allow you to make it happen today, I am absolutely committed to finding a way to make it happen in the near future.
The biggest piece of advice that I have for my clients is to follow up on everything and not to assume that things are progressing just because they have been set in motion. The home buying process has a lot of moving parts. Buying a home is a big milestone. The stakes are big. As such, it is worth doing due diligence and checking on it during every step of the process. When I put in an application for my clients, I don’t just submit them to the lender and hope for the best. I follow up, follow up, and follow up some more. I’m going to watch everything like a hawk from our first meeting to the closing. There is a lot to buying a home and it is necessary for me to stay on top of all of it. Thankfully, I’m used to dealing with a lot of balls in the air. When I was in high school, I taught myself to juggle. I guess you can say I’ve always enjoyed making sure nothing falls to the ground.
Aside from being there for my clients, every day I do everything I can to be there for my family. I have a son, two daughters, who mean the world to me. Everything I do in life I try and do in a way that would make them proud. I also have three furry members of our family. We have two rabbits and a kitten, so we have ample opportunities for furry snuggles in our house.
